Let's face it, the preparation that goes into Thanksgiving dinner can either be a joy or a pain in the you-know-what. If the latter applies to you, then defrosting the turkey, cooking, and washing all the dishes isn't how you want to spend another Thanksgiving. Before resorting to the turkey t.v. dinners, try dining out this year.

Leave the cooking to area restaurants that will be open and ready to serve you, your family, and friends this Thanksgiving. All you have to do is decide where to go and make the reservations. To make your decision less difficult, below are some of the best deals and slight splurges being offered when dining out for Thanksgiving dinner.

Before deciding where to dine, be mindful of a few things. It is the season of giving and being thankful, and you'll want to tip your server generously if the service was outstanding. Stiffing the waiter, especially on a holiday is just plain rude. Make dining reservations in advance and expect to pay a set gratuity if dining with a large party.

If spending Thanksgiving at a restaurant isn't your thing, check out which area bars will be serving Thanksgiving dinner for free.
