P.O’s Restaurant is located out in Cypress, Texas.  This was my second recent visit to Cypress for a burger.  I’m beginning to think that Cypress is Burger Capitol Country!

P.O.’s Burgers

P.O.’s is a guy’s burger place.  A man’s man burger joint.  I think I might have been the only chick there, except for my daughter and a lady working behind the counter.  So, as you can imagine — no frills here.  Simple decor – Yes.  Fancy – No.  Trendy - No.  Feminine – No.  Dainty – No.  Men – Yes. Older – Yes.  Broken-in feeling - Yes.  Character – Yes.  Regulars – Yes.  You get the idea.   P.O.’s also shares property with the Cypress Saloon.

Inside P.O.’s Burgers

I ordered the 1/2 lb. Cheeseburger ($4.89) .  I waited a while for this burger.  A long while.  The place was not crowded.   But the burger was good-ish.  Not the greatest…especially for waiting that long.  But the combo of onions, tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, mustard, ketchup, and cheese on a sesame seed bun was comforting and satisfying.  The tomatoes and lettuce were very fresh.  I was a little disappointed in the beef patty.  It was not thick, nor juicy.  But it was flavorful.

I also ordered the fries (regular – $1.99) and the onion rings (regular – $2.29).  Standard fare on those items.  They didn’t taste home cut.  Weren’t fantabulous, but they fit the bill.   The Onion Rings were better.

OnionRings and Fries

Other items on their menu include chopped BBQ sandwich, hotdogs, chicken fried steak sandwich, and ostrich and buffalo burgers.
