There's more to tequilas than an added potent element in a margarita. That's why Houston's largest tequila bar, TQLA Houston is set on on showcasing this in its More Than Margaritas tasting class. This month's featured tequila is Pura Vida. A brand ambassador will discuss the history, proper tasting, flavor notes, and more. The class includes appetizers. Space is limited. Saturday, December 10:

Train your palate and distinguish different roasts just like the pros, in the final class of the Palate & Coffee Training Series. Taught by David Buehrer of Greenway Coffee and the soon-to-open, Blacksmith Coffee Bar, guests will learn how to coffee and coffee beans differ by aroma and flavor, and other techniques for $25. Whole Foods Market (2955 Kirby Dr): Join Whole Foods Market for an after-hours holiday wine tasting led by Wine Specialist, Sally beginning at 9 p.m. The special tasting will feature eight winter wines, each paired with cheeses. Friday, December 16th

Whole Foods Market (701 Waugh): It's not the holidays without sparkling wine. Taste and learn about select sparkling wines and champagnes during Whole Foods Market's Montrose location's monthly wine tasting from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Led by the store's wine experts, guests will taste sparkling wines for the holidays paired with cheeses. The tasting is free but reservation is required. Sign up at Guest Services.
